Dear fellow Georgians,

Thank you for visiting my online campaign headquarters.

The Office of Insurance Commissioner affects the lives and businesses of all Georgians by regulating insurance, fire safety, and small loan institutions. You and your business deserve a candidate who believes in public service. You deserve a candidate with experience and a plan. You deserve a candidate who is ready now.

As a young woman I enlisted as a Private in our Armed Forces. I worked hard, became an officer, and after 10 years was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. I trained and served in law enforcement; communications; and nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare. I believe in public service.

After leaving the Army, I ran for my first elected office and won. I served for four years in the Georgia House of Representatives and two years in the Georgia Senate. I fought for expanded health benefits; health benefit tax breaks for employers and employees; and the consumers' right to quality, low-cost health care. I have the experience.

And, I have a plan. You can have low-cost, quality health benefits no matter where in the state you live. You can have a place to go with your insurance questions and concerns that is in the same place that regulates the companies that provide your policies. In a climate of diminished financial resources for cities and counties, your right to fire safety must not be sacrificed.
